Can't Sleep

Here's a few pics first ... this was outside today:

St. Patrick's Day
He loves to "ride" his bike down drive-ways (hence the helmet). I'm sure the neighbors love it when they see us coming.

The last of the failed Christmas card photos: "Go grab the sonogram picture. Go ahead. Just do it. It's okay. Wait, do it slower this time!" Bad idea. And yes, the tree is only half decorated because I didn't want to chase down ornaments 100 times a day!

The idea was to have him "popping" out of a wrapped gift .... but the little dude was too fast!

So this was nice. A non-smiling Santa (sitting in a paisley chair). I could tell Santa did not want to appease me by holding the sonogram photo .....but I did not care, what else did he have to do? Guess he won in the end though. Wouldn't have been so bad but all the other flashes washed it out.

So I can't sleep .... acid reflux strikes again and Jacob is not sleeping well due to allergies. I've been up to soothe him a few times and each time he gives me the sweetest and softest "thank you". Also, the neighbors dog has been barking for hours. For those that are familiar, it is the Children of the Corn's dog and I always worry he's starving! (but not enough to do anything about it. I mean, he could be corn-ized and attack!)

Jacob has been in his big boy bed all week!! I need to get a picture, but it's gone great (very, very surprisingly I should add). His sheets have little multi-colored cars on them and he likes to point each of them out to me. Let's see, I need to give Addie Jude some air time .....I'm 33 weeks along and doc said she's measuring big just like her brother (awesome) - so I'm assuming that means an early induction again. I can not wait to meet her, absolutely can not wait!! I'm going to have a daughter, how crazy and wonderful is that?? I've had what I'm hoping and assuming are normal second pregnancy thoughts such as, will Jacob feel left out or jilted? Breaks my heart to think of the possibility - but I know it's just silly mommy guilt/pregnancy anxiety kicking in. Do I have the ability to love her as much as I love him? I know that sounds bad, of course I will - it just seems impossible to have any room left in my heart because we love our little guy soo much! Can I handle a two-year old and a newborn? Will she sleep??? WILL SHE SLEEP???Ah yes, 5-7 more weeks! Tonight I asked Jacob where Addie was and he pointed to my stomach ... score ... but then he turned and pointed to Jason's stomach also. Oh. (Jason was not as amused as me! ;-)
Going to try and sleep now, we get to hang with my sister-n-law and Jacob's cousins tomorrow - er, today!

Surprise!

READER BEWARE ... this is kind of a big post. So my friends and I get together for GNO's - Girls Night Out - as often as our schedules will permit. We had one scheduled in Grapevine a few weeks ago and I was just going about my business thinking it was another fun girls night, when .... SURPRISE ... it was a baby shower for Addie!!! How sweet is that?? I was so overwhelmed with gratitude that these women pulled it together -- I just really didn't have words for it. I still like to brag about it! ;-) (hence the post about it) Didn't have my camera on me, so here's what I've got ....

I got a package of diapers, so I took a picture of Jacob's diapers now vs. the newborns. Aren't they cute?

And I had Jason take my picture after the dinner .... here I am at 7 months preggy. Chin out and arch that back!

Here's all of Addie's loot, not bad - eh?

A little transitional picture of Jacob eating "noodles" and making a huge mess.
So then we found out that Jason earned a free trip to Naples, Florida for two from work - and we stayed at the Ritz Carleton! It was sooooo nice. You know when you see a really cute/fancy outfit that you want, but you talk yourself out of buying it because you think "where would I ever wear this?" - well I found where such outfits are worn, it's here! I told Jason he has to earn this trip again so that I can do some non-maternity shopping next time. It was great non-kid time .... although I kept looking around for a toddler to chase. I read my book, had some spa visits, ate lunch on the beach, watched people drink, enjoyed some awesome people watching and was beaming with pride as my husband received his award. I am very proud of him and will be cracking the whip on him to earn again so we can go back! :-) And the best part, we never took out our credit card. Oh, and I got a free pair of very nice sunglasses and a free necklace. I love free stuff - especially when it's not crap.

So the night of the awards ceremony we came back to our room and this champagne and chocolate was waiting for us. Obviously the champagne did not get opened ... but you see that picture of the hotel ... it's all made of chocolate! Even the stand it is sitting on. Mmmmmm......

Me the night of the awards ceremony .... beach front hotel = frizzy hair.

The hotel

We got bored and built this sand castle! (he-he)

View from our balcony

Our room ... the two beds was not planned, but being 7 months preggy I did not mind it. Jason didn't either since I squirm a lot these days.

So onto the random photos time .... I had many, many attempts at a Christmas card photo, more than what I posted below, it's going to take multiple posts to show them all (bet you can't wait) .... here are some of the outtakes:
Take 1: Wouldn't look at camera, was throwing fit b/c it was Thanksgiving Day and he wanted to get to grandma and grandpa's house. Oreo was supposed to be sitting in the wagon with him, but she was having none of it also.

Take 2: This was considered at one point, but I wasn't hip to the Olive Garden advertisement - or the shoe.

Take 3: Love the pic, but I wanted more of his face in the picture.

Just a random photo, wasn't in the running!

Take 4: He's not smiling .... kind of hard to crop the trash can out.

This was post-Christmas .... he has on the Elmo slippers his Aunt Jackie got him.

Christmas morning! Playing with his new puzzle.

Jacob playing with our snowman .... putting a pipe in his mouth. And yes those are lemons for his eyes.

Winter 09-10

So these are some pics ..... still have many many more to off-load!

This was just today, he really didn't like the snow!

I visited my niece's school for Grandparent's Day ..... this is Regan during art class:

Emma G in homeroom:
Alyssa is front and center doing her jump rope performance that won first place in the school talent competition!

Jacob helping daddy blow out his birthday cake/candle

Just my handsome boy!

Jacob on the train all by himself, that's Callie in front of him.

Grocery shopping at the Science museum on New Year's Day

This was from the snow a few months back .... he kept calling the snowballs his "snowmen" - he STILL asks about them!

All about Christmas gifts

My niece's making ornaments at Vetro in Grapevine

Jacob at a birthday party

Jacob eating his 3rd piece of birthday cake, i.e., three different cakes - I did not let him eat three pieces at once! Perhaps mommy went over board this year!

Mallie & Tara rockin' out

Gates, Callie and Keelan at the park!

Jacob and Andrew being silly at lunch yesterday.

Not a very exciting post, but I have one's from his birthdayS that I need to post -- but am waiting for celebration #3 to occur. Can't believe my baby is two on Friday :-( ..... also on Friday, baby Sprout is 16 weeks along! Which means we should find out gender very soon.
